Admission procedure
to the Bachelor and Master Degree programme at the Faculty of Nuclear Sciences and Physical Engineering of the Czech Technical University in Prague (FJFI ČVUT) for the academic year 2014 – 2015

Applications for study may be submitted online via, or on an appropriately filled form delivered by post or in person by 31st March 2014 at the address:

  • FJFI ČVUT in Prague, Department for Student Affairs, Břehová 7, 115 19 Prague 1 (for the Degree programmes in Prague)
  • FJFI ČVUT in Prague, Děčín Branch, Department for Student Affairs, Pohraniční 1, 40501 Děčín 1 (for the Degree programmes in Děčín)

Please attach to the application the proof you have paid the admission administration fee (500 CZK for either an electronic or a printed application). This fee is to be paid into the account of FJFI ČVUT, account number 19-5373100277/0100 held by KB Praha 1, konstantní symbol 379, variabilní symbol 77777, specifický symbol : electronic application code or applicant´s passport number if they submit a printed form. (These symbols further specify the payment.)

Bachelor Degree Programme
The Bachelor Degree Programme is open to candidates who have achieved a complete secondary education, either general, or technical, or otherwise specialized.Their level of Czech or Slovak language is secured by the Secondary school-leaving examination. A certified examination in the Czech language at the minimum B2 level is required from foreign students.There are no entrance examinations to our Faculty. A candidate may enrol on the Bachelor Degree Programme at the Faculty of Nuclear Sciences and Physical Engineering of the Czech Technical University only twice.

Continuing Master Degree Programme
The continuing Master Degree Programme is open to candidates who have completed the Bachelor Degree Programme in the same or related branch and successfully passed the entrance examinations. The date of the entrance examination to the Master Degree Programme is 17 June 2014 from 9 am to 2 pm in the premises of the Faculty (FJFI ČVUT ) in Prague, at 13, Trojanova street, Prague 2, room number 207. The entrance examinations are in the written form and verify knowledge of theoretical subjects (Mathematics and Physics, Mathematics and Information Technology, or Physics and Chemistry, according to the chosen branch), covering the respective Bachelor Degree curricula at the FJFI ČVUT in Prague. The Dean of the Faculty may exempt from entrance examinations the candidates who have completed the Bachelor Degree Programme at FJFI ČVUT or a corresponding programme at another university. If required, an individual two-semester study programme will be designed for students already enroled so they achieve the Bachelor Degree level requested as a basis for continuation in their branch or specialization in the Master Degree Programme. An applicant can be admitted to the Master Degree programme only twice.

The verification of compliance with the above conditions for admission (including the submission of a valid proof of fully completed secondary general, technical or otherwise specialized education) takes place on 30 June 2014. The official decision about admission will be sent within 30 days after the verification date. Students who will not be able to meet the legal requirements for admission by this date may use alternative or extraordinary admission dates.

The decision about the request for admission review will be issued 30 days after receipt of said request.

Applicants have the right to inspect their files concerning the decision of admission to study during the office hours at the Department for Student Affairs FJFI ČVUT in Prague, or alternatively, on the day of entrance examinations to the Master Degree Programme, after the examination board deliberation .

The admission to the Bachelor and Master Degree programmes ends officially by the day the Dean finalizes admission or non admission of all the candidates.

If required, the Dean declares an alternative or extraordinary admission date.
